Urinating problems may differ and have various causes. The most
frequent ones are cited below, there can also be polyps in the bladder,
stones in the urinary tract, as well as genital, urethra, and prostate
infections.
If you are absolutely unable to urinate, and if you
feel pain in the lower abdomen, go immediately to the emergency ward of a
hospital.
But if you have a burning sensation while urinating, you
probably suffer from cystitis.
Some people feel they are urinating
more often than usual. If so, it could still be quite harmless unless the
need arises more than 5 times a day and twice during the night, and if you
are unable to resist. In such cases a hypertrophic prostate gland is often
diagnosed in men, while gynecological problems such as fibroids or bladder
cysts are most frequently diagnosed in women.
If you are a man and
you have the impression that your bladder never gets totally emptied, or
that you have to wait to do so, and if you always have to put unusual
effort into generating any kind of flow, you probably have a hypertrophied
prostate gland.
If you are a man and you feel you cannot urinate
normally and your urinary flow is weaker or different than it used to be,
and if urination now requires extra effort and often happens in two
stages, swelling of the prostate gland and restriction of the urethra
could well be the problem.
