Agrimony, a member of the rose family,
is an erect perennial herb growing to 60 cm in height with downy, serrated
leaves in three to five pairs, larger at the base (where they may be 20 cm
long) and getting smaller further up the stem. Five-petalled yellow
flowers grow on tall flower spikes flowering from the bottom of the stem
upwards, throughout the summer.
Parts used: Aerial parts
gathered in summer while flowering but before too many burr-like seed
heads have formed.
