Like all of the best games this is blissfully simple, and great fun. Learn how to play in 30 seconds, and you'll be playing it for the rest of your life. So what do you do? Easy! Place the letter pieces face down on a table. One by one players turn the pieces over until someone is able to make a three letter word. The first to spot, and, of course shout out the word, gets the pieces. But beware, because from this point on the game has two sides. Players not only continue trying to find new words as new pieces are turned over but, at the same time, try to SNATCH other people's words by spotting newly turned letters that, when added to your opponent's existing words, can make new ones. So... a C and an A are joined on the table by a T. You spot CAT and the word is yours. But a few seconds later an R is turned and your opponent spots that, when added to CAT, this makes CART. So now your CAT is their CART. But soon after a K is revealed, and you shout out TRACK. Now the word is yours. This carries on until all the letters are revealed and the scoring begins.
A fantastic late night game when played at full pace, or a wonderful family game when played more gently. SNATCH comes in a tube and so is easy to stick in your bag for weekends away or holidays. It can be played pretty much anywhere!
