With 14 letters to play 2 words the possibilities are enormous. It doesn't take long before players expect to be making much longer words than in other word games they might have experienced.
DUOWORD is a challenging, alternative word game that involves attacking strategies and forward thinking. Playing DUOWORD helps to develop and improve word building skill.
The idea behind DUOWORD came to Robert Fraser, a South Australian firefighter, back in 1991. He had concluded that most word games in the market were very limiting in regards to the word potential available to the players. Rob then set about developing a game that actually allowed players the opportunity to make and play long words regularly.
DUOWORD is the result of some very extensive research and development.The game play results prove that Robert has been successful in acheiving his objective of developing an advanced style, creative word building game that encourages and allows for long word formation.
After not being able to attract the interest of a larger company to develop the idea, Robert formed a company called Brainbox Games Pty Ltd in 1997 and DUOWORD was taken from the prototype stage to being sold in the marketplace. DUOWORD was first produced in the deluxe board game format in September 1997.
DUOWORD has been successfully marketed in selected specialist retail outlets, through educational suppliers to the Schools, and through direct marketing catalogues such as Reader's Digest Australia. It has received a number of very positive and encouraging independent reviews and was described as "a breath of fresh air" in an edition of the US Games Magazine.
DUOWORD is a game that can be played as a fascinating solo puzzle or as a challenge suitable for 2 - 4 players aged 10-100+. It is educational entertainment for the whole family and is being used in many schools around Australia. DUOWORD is an interesting, creative word building challenge for children and adults alike.
