One glitch in a beautiful game.
There is only one improvement that can be made on an otherwise gorgeous chess set -- it is not user friendly for seniors -- or anyone -- that does not have good eyesight. The little digital screen is too small, and sometimes depending on how the light falls, hard to read -- for anyone, as I said, that has less than good vision.
The game requires that you locate the right square by reading first the digital read out, and then finding the small letter and number that is written on each square. No little blinking lights or voice, so for the sight challenged or very old, I wish there would be a game with the same beauty, aesthetics and size of pieces, same programs, etc -- but user friendlier when it comes to reading.
For most of us, if you don't mind locating the number letter written in the corner of each square, this game is a gem.

Finally a big tournament size electronic chess
Most, if not all table top chess computers have a playing area of 8 to 12 inches and tiny 'fumble fingered' pieces. A practical application of common sense from Excalibur has given us a tournament size, vinyl surface area, weighted piece auto-sensory game.
Excalibur went 'outside the box' for this model. It is a non-electronic conventional chess set to the casual observer. No lopsided control station on one side. Perfectly suitable for two people to just play without the computer. Visually pleasing.
Dislikes: I can't believe it comes without the power supply/transformer. Why cheap plastic for the playing board?
Wood or a composite material would have attracted more buyers.
Likes: All the specifications as advertised.
