| | Description
Players of all skill levels can throw the Aerobie Superdisc well and enjoy its stable, accurate flights. Its patented spoiler rim and soft rubber edge were developed when inventor Alan Adler set out to design an improved "Frisbee." Conventional flying discs have their center of aerodynamic lift near the disc's leading edge in flight. That's why they tend to roll to the right for right handed throws and to the left for left handed throws. By contrast, the Superdisc's breakthrough spoiler rim centers the disc's aerodynamic lift throughout each flight, making the Superdisc a more stable flyer for throwers of all skill levels.
The Superdisc's soft, rubber edge provides a great grip for strong throws and remains smooth to catch even after landing on pavement. Conventional discs often develop sharp scratches and burrs. Made from non-toxic materials, the Superdisc's soft edge is also kind to a dog's mouth, making it the disc of choice for many professional dog disc entertainers. Floats in water. | | Recommendations
THROWING THE DISCS - If you want any of the Aerobie discs to fly straight, release them level. When people throw conventional flying discs they tend to release them sloping downward to compensate for their tendancy to roll over in flight. With Aerobie discs, this compensation is not needed so throw them level if you want them to fly straight. You can throw an Aerobie disc sloping to the left if you want it to curve left and sloping to the right if you want it to curve right.
SAFE PLAY - As is the case with any thrown object, throw an Aerobie disc only to an alert catcher. Play in a clear space so participants will not accidentally trip over or crash into trees, cars, people, and other hazards. Cease play if there is insufficient light to clearly see the disc in flight.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
I was disappointed that the Superdisc Ultra will not fly as far as the Aerobie rings will fly. Why is that? One of the key reasons Aerobie rings fly so far is their thin profile allows them to slice through the air with minimal drag. The Superdisc Ultra, like the Superdisc, is 3/4" thick which is about 6 times as thick as an Aerobie ring. If we had made the Superdisc Ultra 1/8" thick like the rings, it would have been unstable in flight. With the same thickness but additional weight, the Superdisc Ultra will fly farther than the Superdisc but it cannot rival Aerobie rings for distance of flight. | | Additional Information
All of the Aerobie brand products are produced by Stanford University Engineering Instructor Alan Adler. Founded in 1984, Superflight, Inc has led the industry in "Far Flying" objects.
