The Ferdinand Tiger tank was one of the two projects submitted for approval to the higher ranks officials of the German army in order to choose what should have been the Tiger tank, one of the best armoured vehicles of the World War II.
Even if such vehicle was equipped with many new devices this project was not taken to its final stage, a limited number of Ferdinand was then manufactured but mainly used as a recovery vehicle
