Better known as the Fiat Eldridge, this record-breaking racer was built by the Englishman Sir Ernest Eldridge on the chassis of a 1908 Fiat SB 4.
Incredibly, it mounted an A.12 Bis aviation engine from the First World War, which produced a full 320 HP. It had a cylinder capacity of 21,706 cc.
The vehicle's 1923 debut at Brooklands saw Ernest Eldridge establish his first « mile record from a standing start. Soon afterwards, on 12th July 1924 at Arpajon in France, he broke the absolute speed record by achieving an average of 234.98 Kmh.
Other records over distances of 5 km and 10 km would follow.
