During the past decade the famous air superiority fighter F-14 Tomcat under went a series of improvements and modifications to keep it in service and to extend its operational services to the role of a bomber, thus abandoning the only task of a fighter plane.
Some of the F-14's in service today are able to carry an extensive payload of traditional or laser-guided bombs. Furthermore, they can be equipped with infra-red vision instruments for night attack missions.
