Description
The new F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter-bomber is currently being put into service at American Marine Divisions, where it will be used side-by-side with aircraft of the previous C and D versions which, although they look virtually alike, are significantly different. The Super Hornet is actually larger, boasting considerably better aerodynamics, improved handling, plus greater range and armament capacity.
A two-seater has been developed from the basic single-seater aircraft to help pilots changeover to the new airplane, offering the same level of performance.
Moreover, an electronic war version is planned to replace the old RA-6 Prowlers.
