Description
The Supermarine Spitfire was the British Royal Air Force's premiere fighter during WWII.
Early versions, with the Hawker Hurricane, formed the backbone of the defense against the German Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain.
The Spitfire MK9 was initially designed as a stop-gap measure to counter the Luftwaffe's FW190 which seriously outclassed the Spitfire MK5.
In the end, the MK9 was produced in larger numbers than any other version except the MK5 and is widely regarded as the definitive Spitfire.

56 parts molded in medium grey and clear with recessed panel lines.
3 part canopy may be posed open or closed.
Accurately depicts the Spitfire's "gull wing".
Cockpit detail includes seat, floor, rear bulkhead, instrument panel.
Separate exhaust stacks.
