Description
Although it still looks like an F-18, the new F-18E fighter is an almost totally new aircraft.
The aircraft was developed following the failure and cancellation of the A-12 and addresses the range and payload shortcomings of the earlier F-18 models.
It is being designed with a whole series of new technologies by using new component materials and an improved aerodynamic shape.
Thanks to particularly hidden air-intakes certain stealth features against radar have been obtained.
At the same time a whole series of a new weapons generation is being introduced: air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles of latest design.

Detailed 1/72nd scale for static display.
Markings included for the US Navy/McDonnell-Douglas demonstrator aircraft.
114 parts in light grey and clear with delicate recessed panel lines.
Accurately reproduced intakes, landing gear and optional position speed brake.
Cockpit detail: control yoke, instrument panel, and 1-piece ejection seat.
Optional ordnance includes a selection of missiles.
Canopy may be posed open or closed.
