 From The Publisher
The Battle of Vittoria, on June 21, 1813, was the deciding battle of the Peninsular War. Joseph's army left over 150 guns as well as the greatest treasure that had ever been taken on a battlefield. Following Wellington's victory there the French army was pushed over the Pyrenees and into France. This ended Napoleon's ambitions to the Iberian peninsular once and for all and opened the doorway for an invasion of France itself.
