| |  | | | Accreditation Michael Halvorson is the author of several books for Microsoft Press, including several editions of Running Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual Basic 5 Step by Step, Learn Visual Basic Now, and Microsoft Word 97/ Visual Basic Step by Step (with Chris Kinata). He worked for Microsoft Corporation from 1985 to 1993, where he was employed as a technical editor, acquisitions editor, and localization manager. In 1996, Michael received a Merit Award for technical writing from the Society for Technical Communication, and the Thomas M. Power Award for excellence in historical writing. Michael Young is an author of books on using and programming computers (including several editions of Running Microsoft Office) a contributor to several computer magazines, and a freelance programmer. He has written 15 computer books, including AFC Developers Workshop for Microsoft Press, and he has used and written about Microsoft Office applications for almost a decade.
