Author Biography: James Horton is a professional artist who has written several books on drawing and painting techniques, as well as being engaged in a major survey of figurative painting in Britain. Since receiving a post-graduate degree from the Royal College of Art, he has had numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United Kingdom. He currently runs painting courses in Provence and the Pyrenees. James Horton was also one of the artist advisers on Windsor and Newton's highly successful "Paint and Painting" exhibition at the Tate Gallery in 1982.
