Author Biography: Nega Mezlekia's memoir was a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice and the winner of the Governor General's Award. His first novel is The God Who Begat a Jackal (Picador). Nega Mezlekia left Ethiopia in 1983 with little more than the clothes he was wearing. He now lives in Toronto.
