To keep the fine razor edge on half or full hollow ground razors, sharpen with a strop made of smooth Russian or Rindleder leather.
Draw the edge away from you with the back of the razor on the strop.
When changing the direction, the razor should be turned over.
Never raise the back of the razor off of the strop as it will rake off the edge.

Here's the deal. Go with a disposable safety razor or buck the weak trends and go old school. I chose the latter. I picked up a solingen razor a few years back and I'm still getting a beauty shave without showing any signs of slowing. Get a quality strop with one of the white linen finishes to pimp out your edge and you'll never look back. Don't expect to be an artist with it straight off. It takes practice to get a close shave, but surprisingly you won't cut yourself much. It just takes awhile to be proficient.
