General Information on Lemon Verbena Herb
Lemon Verbena - (Lippia citriodora).
Propagation: By seed; by cuttings.
Nature of Plant: An old-time garden favorite for its fragrant and refreshing lemony-scented foliage; graceful stems are useful for flower arrangements; leaves often used in finger bowls; light lavender flowers in slender terminal spikes are inconspicuous but very attractive.
Spacing of Mature Plants: In most climates about 2 feet.
Cultural Requirements: Light well-drained soil in full sun; plant is tender and in cool climates may be taken indoors, cut back and stored with infrequent watering; in February, cut off weaker stalks and repot in new soil; keep plants from 55 to 60 degrees; new green growth will come along stems; spray for red spider; in cutting back plants for the winter, cuttings may be rooted in sand.

Leaf - (Medicinal) Febrifuge, sedative, used in treatment of indigestion, flatulence; (Industrial) in perfume.
