Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) was founded in the United Kingdom, in 1959, by Lady Muriel Dowding in response to the atrocities perpetrated on animals for the fur trade. The founder, with a few supporters, set out to create awareness about the cruelty behind the fashionable fur industry. Nothing exposes the ice-cold heart of the fur trade more than the truth about fur farms. The shocking facts that came to light were about the trapping, skinning, breeding, and the immense suffering of animals during their brief life in the fur farms. These facts were enough to ignite a spark that has lit the fire of compassion that now encompasses many aspects in the field of animal welfare. BWC members were the first to makefake fur and hold a fashion show featuring them. This was a great step since, until then, people had not been given an alternative. This paved the way for manufacturing cruelty-free products for all those concerned individuals who sought an alternative.

Beauty Without Cruelty is the leading name in intelligent, responsible and compassionate beauty care. In 1996 Beauty Without Cruelty relaunched the skin care and hair care portion of the line with beautiful new packaging and aromatherapy inspired formulation. Beauty Without Cruelty is truely the company that cares aboutyou.
