The scent of neroli oil (Citru srantium var. Amara or C. bigardia) is floral, citrusy, sweet, delicate, and slightly bitter. It is classified as a middle-note scent with an odor intensity of about three out of five. Blending companions include all oils, especially florals. For physical uses, this oil is calming, antidepressive, and may be used for mature skin, broken capillaries, and other skin problems. For emotional usage, neroli oil is useful for alleviating anxiety, emotional shock, fear of public speaking, fatigue, and lack of confidence; it is also used to promote emotional harmony, release deep pain, and encourage hope. This species of citrus fruit produces three different essential oils from one plant: neroli from the blossom, bitter orange from the peel, and petitgrain from the leaves. The tree is native to Italy and is named after the princess of Nerola. It was traditionally used in bridal bouquets to calm the nerves of newlyweds.
