General Herb Information
Dill - (Anetlzum graveolens).
Propagation: By seed, easy germination, self-sows readily and resulting plants are much stronger than from first sowing.
Nature of Plant: Grown from seed, 3 feet tall, feathery foliage, flower umbels.
Spacing of Mature Plants: 10 inches.
Cultural Requirements: Avoid transplanting because of delicate root system; average moderately rich, sandy, well drained soil in sunny spot; must be cultivated and weeded to produce thriving plants; needs protection from wind; individual plants may be staked when 18 inches high.
Uses
Leaf: (Culinary) In cottage and cream cheese, fish sauce, potato salad, cream sauce for chicken, tomato soup, sprinkled over steaks and chops, thinned-out seedlings may be used.
Seed Head: In pickles and vinegar.
Seed: (Culinary) In apple pie, pastry, spiced beets, Scandinavian bean and beet soup, gravy; (Industrial) oil to scent perfume and soap; (Medicinal) carminative.

Hot tea brewing method: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 tea bag for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the pot, cover and let steep for 2-4 minutes. Pour into your cup; add milk and sugar to taste.
Iced tea brewing method: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 5 tea bags into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea itself. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into the serving pitcher straining the tea bags. Add ice and top-up with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.
