Green tea is the earliest type of tea ever developed, with a lot of it developed in the People's Republic of China and the Japanese Islands. The first green tea ever made was sent abroad in 1611, when the Dutch East India Company established a factory on Hirado Island in the Japanese Islands. Only 4% of green tea now developed in the Japanese Islands is even sent abroad!
