Description
Garcinia Cambogia Extract, also known as Citrimax, contains 50% hydroxycitric acid (HCA) which works with the body's own natural use of calories. It suppresses appetite by redirecting calories away from fat production and towards the formation of glycogen. Glycogen is the stored form of glucose, one of the body's primary sources of energy. Increased glycogen production and storage is the body's normal way of signaling the brain's satiety centre that enough food has been eaten. HCA is not a central nervous system stimulant. HCA is most effective at influencing appetite, increasing energy levels and inhibiting fat and cholesterol production when used in combination with niacin-bound chromium (Chromemate). Citrimax is recommended as a dieting aid supported by exercise and a balanced nutritional diet.

There are no known drug interactions associated with Garcinia cambogia or any of our TerraVita Garcinia products. However, patients taking oral hypoglycemic medication are should seek medical advice before taking Garcinia cambogia due to the possibility of increasing the action of the hypoglycemic medication to a dangerous degree. There is very little information available on how Garcinia cambogia or HCA (Hydroxycitric Acid) might affect a developing fetus, an infant, or a small child. Therefore, its use is not recommended during pregnancy, breast-feeding, or early childhood.
Adverse effects of taking Garcinia cambogia are minimal. A study conducted by St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital at Columbia University found that symptoms documented by patients taking Garcinia cambogia were similar to those individuals consuming a placebo. The most common reported events included headaches, upper respiratory, or gastrointestinal symptoms. Whether these mild side effects could be attributed to the supplement is unclear and, given that they were nearly identical to those of the placebo, unlikely.
Individuals diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus should take Garcinia cambogia only upon approval of a qualified health practitioner due to its glycemic action. Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia syndromes should avoid using HCA due to the possibility of forming acetylcholine in the brain.
Generally speaking, Garcinia cambogia and HCA are viewed as safe and nontoxic for the vast majority of healthy adult individuals.

Take 1 capsule, 3 times daily, with meals.
