My wife was prescribed by her doctor to take Propylthiouracil for her hyperthyroidism. She was told to take 2 tablets, 3x per day. When she took it, she felt pain in one of her eyes which lasted for two days. She called her doctor re: the pain and he said to discontinue use. Does your thyroid support pills carry the same ingredients as the PTU meds the doctor prescribed? I am very interested in ordering these pills for my wife. PLease advise. Thanks.

Propylthiouracil (also known as PTU) is the actual name for the active ingredient in Propylthiouracil.
Thyroid Support is an all-herbal blend of Bugleweed, Motherwort and Lemon Balm. It does not contain ANY Propylthiouracil.

Flavonoids, phenolic acids, and other compounds appear to be responsible for lemon balm’santi-herpes and thyroid-regulating actions. Test tube studies have found that lemon balm blocks attachment of antibodies to the thyroid cells that cause Grave’s disease (hyperthyroidism). The brain’s signal to the thyroid (thyroid-stimulating hormone or TSH) is also blocked from further stimulating the excessively active thyroid gland in this disease.
The suggested daily dosage of Thyroid Support is to take 1 capsule, 3 times daily, with meals.

I suffered from hyperthyroidism (Graves) several years ago and discovered that Motherwort and Bugleweed could be used for treatment of this condition. I started out taking one capsule 3 times a day, after 4 weeks my thyroid levels began to normalize and I was feeling good again. I actually went a little hypothyroid as a result according to my blood tests and then I took some kelp pills, which contain iodine and that brought my thyroid hormones levels back to normal. I highly recommend taking motherwort and bugleweed for hyperthyroidism but under a doctor's supervision.

It helped my hyperthyrodism. The nervous feelings dissappeared. I was able to focus better. I had fewer acne breakouts. I took 1 tablet a day for 90 days. The dosage of 3 tablets a day was too much for me. I think I began to develop an underactive thyroid, so I stopped taking this herb combination. My menstrual cycles are irregular now. Hopefully, my menses will be back to normal soon.

Also Recommended: I do recommmend a doctor's visit before starting this herb and another visit 30 days or so after being on the herbs. Keep close tabs on how you are feeling each day while on the herbs. They do work and can be powerful in addressing hyperthyroidism.

I was unable to use the product on my doctors advice, as I am currently on medicine for Graves Disease and products in your supplements would do me more harm than good. At some point do look forward to being able to truly try such supplements.

It really works!
I was diagnosed with Graves disease over a year ago. Even with insurance, I could not afford the monthly blood tests and office visits. After doing some research, I found that doctors in Britain have been Bugleweed, Motherwort, and Lemon Balm to treat Graves disease for decades. It really does suppress the body's reaction to all the hormones the Thyroid puts out.
