Description
Feverfew is used for pain, migraine headaches, fever, colitis, menstrual problems, muscle tension and arthritis. The herbs sesquiterpene lactones inhibit inflammatory prostaglandins and histamines. Feverfew increases fluidity of lung and bronchial tube mucus, promotes menses and stimulates the appetite and uterine contractions. This herb contains borneol, camphor, parthenolide, pyrethrins, santamarin, terpene, iron, niacin, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, selenium, silicon, sodium, zinc, vitamin A and E.
Preparation and Dosage: Daily dose of 50 - 200 mg of dried leaves; alternatively, 2 1/2 fresh leaves or tinctures (1:5; 25% ethanol).

Stir 1/4 of a teaspoon into a glass of water and consume 3 times daily, with meals.
Cautions
Avoid during pregnancy and lactation. Do not use continuosly for more than 4 months, without the advice of a physician. Discontinue use if a sore mouth or mouth ulcers develop.
