Description
The MultiSure® for Men 50+ is a complete multiple vitamin and mineral formula that is designed to supplement the specific daily nutritional needs of men aged 50 years and over who enjoy a lifestyle with lower stress levels and moderate activity. MultiSure® for Men 50+ is formulated with meaningful amounts of vitamins and minerals like natural source vitamin E, selenium, and zinc. This iron-free formula features phytochemicals like Saw Palmetto berry extract, for improved function of the prostate gland; alfalfa juice concentrate, a nutrient rich plant; and lutein, a yellow-orange carotene that helps preserve and enhance eye function.
Another nutritional advantage is the Digestive Enzyme Blend containing plant enzymes (protease, amylase, lipase and cellulase). As we age, our natural digestive enzyme production seems to taper down resulting in incomplete digestion and poor nutrient absorption. webber naturals has added plant digestive enzymes to help maximize the absorption of all nutrients. MultiSure® for Men 50+ is iron-free - Research suggests excess iron may increase a man's risk of heart disease.

The MultiSure ingredients are listed above. It contains 12.5 mg of B6, 40 mcg of B12, and 0.5 mg of folic acid. Vitamin B3 (Niacin), vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride), and vitamin B12 all have been shown to reduce bad cholesterol levels, but in doses much higher than in this multi-vitamin. You would have to take 10-15 capsules per day to reach the levels of vitamin B used in cholesterol studies.
This vitamin is more of a 'general maintenance' supplement to insure that a little bit of all the essential vitamins and minerals are present in one's diet for an overall balance of nutrients. The quantities fall in line with the current RDA values. However, for targeting specific health concerns, like high cholesterol, one would need to select specific vitamins, minerals, and herbs, in addition to making dietary modifications, to really make a difference.
