Green tea extract is a common ingredient in many fat burners - it helps with thermogenesis and the metabolism of fat. It works without increasing the heart rate which is most often associated with most fat burners. With green tea, dieters get the weight loss without the jitters and side effects. Green tea extract itself is used as a weight loss supplement among its many other beneficial uses. Green tea extract may also help reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and has been recently shown to help prevent liver failure.

After contacting the manufacturer of this product, I can say that there are no known negative interactions between MetaSlim Green Tea Extract and the prescription drug Paxil. However, I do recommend that you speak with your physician prior to taking this product as he or she will have the most knowledge regarding your personal medical history and will be able to make the best decision regarding your optimal health. The cautions associated with this product are as follows:
Do not use to replace exercise.
Do not exceed the recommended daily amount to accelerate fat loss. Thermogenic fat loss can only occur at a gradual rate. If you have high blood pressure, angina or other heart problems, do not use this product without first consulting with your health care provider.
Green Tea Extract provides 200mg of green tea extract. Each capsule contains 30mg of caffeine. Therefore, individuals who are hypersensitive to the caffeine content should avoid supplementation with green tea extract.
When consumed at mega doses, green tea can cause central nervous system stimulation and adverse effects such as dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, agitation, tremors, and restlessness.
Due to insufficient and reliable long-term safety studies, pregnant and lactating women should avoid green tea catechin supplementation.
As catechins may decrease platelet aggregation, caution is advised for individuals that are on warfarin or anticoagulation therapy, or persons with genetic or acquired bleeding tendencies.
Green tea appears to reduce absorption of non-heme iron from foods.
Theoretically, concomitant use of green tea and diabetes drugs might interfere with blood glucose control due to the caffeine in green tea.
Some research suggests that caffeine may impair postprandial glucose metabolism in people with diabetes and contribute to insulin resistance.
The caffeine in green tea might increase blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. However, this doesn't seem to occur in people who regularly consume green tea or other caffeinated products.

Caffeine Content
I have been taking the Green Tea Extract for about 2 weeks now, I feel great - and I have not checked my measurements or weight since. The only problem is the caffeine content, I can only sleep a few hours, I then wake up and cannot go back to sleep the rest of the night.
