Description

Pau d'Arco is the inner bark or heartwood of a tropical member of the bignonia family found in South America, including Brazil, Peru, and Argentina. Known in the herb trade as lapacho and taheebo, material sold as Pau d'arco in the American market may be from other Tabebuia species or from tropical trees in the verbena family.

Studies conducted in the late 1960s and early 1970s suggest that Pau D'Arco may be effective as an immune system aid stimulating the body's natural defenses. A compromised or weakened immune system may allow the proliferation of certain bacteria, viral and fungal infections, or other conditions detrimental to one's health. Pau D'Arco also promotes cellular health and provides support to the lymphatic system of the body. Several chemicals known as quinones have been identified from the bark and heartwood; the primary component, lapachol, was admitted into clinical studies in its pure form. Advocates of Pau D'Arco's use argue that the whole bark produces different effects, due to the combined action of dozens of chemicals. Pau D'arco remains the subject of controversy today.

QuestionI have been looking for this cream for many years now and decided to search the internet for it. I'm excited to know that it is still around. I first used this cream for my son in the 90's when he had some lesions on his neck and it worked so well we were both amazed. However, I ran out and had the hardest time trying to located this in various health food stores. I will once again purchase this cream because I know how well it worked for my son.

Thanks,

Isa Naea
