Directions
Fast brewing method: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of tea for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea).
Overnight decoction brewing method: Some believe that a longer brewing period is necessary to extract the full medicinal benefits of the herbs in this blend. 1. Place 2 1/2 gallons of sodium-free filtered, spring or distilled water in a 4 gallon pot with lid on. 2. Bring water to a rolling boil. 3. Add 1 cup of tea. 4. Turn stove off. 5. Allow tea to steep for 4 to 12 hours. 6. Turn stove to medium-high. Heat tea to almost boiling, for 20 minutes. Do not let tea boil. 7. Transfer tea through a strainer into a large pot, so that all liquid is separated from the loose tea. Discard the loose tea. 8. Pour separated tea liquid into sterile containers with lids - do not use aluminum. Tighten caps and allow to cool. Once cooled, loosen caps once, then tighten lids a final time. 9. Place bottled tea liquid into fridge. Let it stand overnight. Do not freeze or microwave.
