This herbal tea is a special blend of Golden Rod, Hyssop, Uva Ursi, Mate, and Senna, formulated specifically for urinary tract health and maintenance.
Goldenrod, which is used to help treat urinary and kidney infections and stones, and catarrh, helps ease backache caused by renal conditions because of its cleansing, eliminative action. Goldenrod is also used to treat arthritis. A cold compress of goldenrod is helpful on fresh wounds due to the anti-inflammatory properties it possesses. Sweet goldenrod is used as an astringent and as a calmative.
Hyssop, in small doses, is commonly used for jaundice and liver congestion. It promotes urine flow and is also laxative. In large doses it is emetic and purgative. Deaths have been recorded due to its use as an abortion agent. It is not recommended for domestic use. As a cardiotonic it relieves cardiac oedema, via the urine.
Uva Ursi is a natural tonic for your urinary system. It soothes, nurtures and strengthens urinary membranes and may help relieve infections such as cystitis. It's specifically effective in cases of highly acidic urine (uric acid).
Considered by many to be the national drink of South America, Yerba Mat‚ is a natural diuretic, and overall cleansing body tonic. It has been used effectively to treat disorders such as bronchitis, colds, coughs, fever, headaches, asthma, laryngitis, rheumatism, and tuberculosis, and it has also been used for blood purification.
Senna is a safe and effective laxative used widely throughout the world. The hydroxanthracene glycosides are not absorbed in the upper gut but are converted by the microflora of the large intestine into active aglycones, principally rhein anthrone, which exert a laxative effect on the colon. The mechanism of this action is twofold: stimulation of colonic motility, resulting in augmented propulsion and accelerated colonic transit, reducing the opportunity for fluid absorption from the faeces. It also influences fluid and electrolyte absorption and secretion by the colon, resulting in a net fluid secretion. The mucilage inhibits fluid absorption, enhancing the laxative effect.

Directions
Hot tea brewing method: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 tea bag for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea).
Iced tea brewing method (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 tea bags into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the bags. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water].

The essence of the current American rule on Traditional Uses is, as stated by FTC, "Claims based on historical or traditional use should be substantiated by confirming scientific evidence, or should be presented in such a way that consumers understand that the sole basis for the claim is a history of use of the product for a particular purpose."
