Homaccords are preparations which contain one or several active substances in respective potency chords. Usually a low potency is combined with a medium potency and a higher potency. The background of this potency combination is the nearly 100-year-old therapeutic experience that the simultaneous administration of low, medium, and higher potencies causes a reduction of the initial aggravation. As is known, initial aggravations occur particularly often during the administration of higher potencies given individually. Homaccords are available as attenuations for oral administration. This multipotent form - among other applications - is particularly appropriate for treating chronic illnesses.
Ranunculus (Buttercup) Herb Information
Eaten immediately after it has been gathered, this plant produces blisters on the lips and in the mouth that soon become small gangrenous sores. If swallowed, it causes inflammation of the alimentary canal, pain, fever, urine retention and fainting. It is, then, a violent poison. The juice of some species, applied to open wounds, can cause death. The powdered leaves taken like snuff cause sneezing, inflammation and hemorrhage.
The poisonous principle is soluble in water but it disappears by dessication. Acids and alcohol however increase the acrid quality of this plant. Water, milk, mucilaginous and demulcent drinks weaken its effect and are the best antidotes for the accidents caused by Buttercups. These plants are also dangerous for animals, and care must be taken that they do not grow too abundantly in pasture land.
They were once used in medicine; they replaced cantharides as rubefacients or vesicants; they have been recommended for gout, sciatica, rheumatism, persistent headaches and intermittent fevers.
Today, Buttercup is no longer used, because their effect is too uncertain, as a result of the volatility of their principles for the dosage to be properly regulated: there would always be the risk of giving too strong or too weak a preparation. The only use now is an external application using the plant when fresh.

Directions
Adults: In general, 10 drops 3 times daily. In acute cases, initially 10 drops every 15 minutes (for a period of up to 2 hours). Long-term administration of this preparation (for several months) must be supervised by a therapist.
