Effexor, also referred to as Venlafaxine, is a drug used to treat depression. It is unrelated to other drugs used to treat depression. Herbal preparations that should be avoided while taking this prescription medication are: 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), L-tryptophan, Sour date nut(Ziziphus jujube) and St. John’s wort. As the products contained in the MetaSlim kit do not contain any of these ingredients, then I would say that there are no known negative drug interactions between it and your current medication. I would, however, recommend that you speak with your physician prior to beginning this course of treatment. He or she will have the most knowledge regarding your personal medical history and will be able to make the best decision for your optimal health!
This product should not be taken if you are currently on any prescription medication for or suffer from hypoglycemia or diabetes. Additionally the MetaSlim Weight Loss Formula contains Bitter Orange Extract that delivers 18 mg synephrine based upon the recommended dosage of 2 tablets a day. Synephrine is a substance similar to Ephedrine and thereby may be able to stimulate the release of epinephrine. It may negatively interact with MAO inhibitors.

meta-slim and high blood pressure
The product seemed to work ok in connection with strenuous exercise during a bicycle trip. Unfortunately, it made me feel jittery when I took it. At first I felt a bit nauseous. I later learned from my doctor that I have high blood pressure and when I mentioned your product I was told I had to discontinue taking it. Hopefully, people with no blood pressure problems will find it ok to use.
