Description

Sleepytime Tea is an effective blend of seven herbs specially chosen for their sedative properties and ability to tonify sleep functions within the body. Linden has been selected for it's calming effect on the nervous system, in addition to it's sedative effect, while Orange is included for it's ability to elicit a sense of inner peace and well-being. The flower, leaf, and peel of the orange are all used for this blend and provide it's characteristic citrus flavor. Spearmint, as well as being helpful for digestion and an upset stomach adds additional flavoring. Chamomile is an herb well known for it's relaxing properties and many sleep tonics wouldn't exist without it. Passion Flower, Poppy Flower, and Rose all play a part, too, in this safe, effective, and non-addictive herbal tranquilizer.

QuestionIs this tea safe to drink at bedtime if you have a heart problem. Bypass surgery, 3 heart attacks and 4 stents.

The concern might be the interaction between one or more of the dozen herbs in the blend and any medications that you might be on. Although each herb is present in a lower-than-normal dose within the mix, and also diluted in the tea format, it would be a smart idea to ask your healthcare practitioner just to make sure that specific dosages of your medications won't be adversely affected. In all probablility, it should be OK to take this herbal tea, which will promote enhanced digestion, as well as both relaxation and restful sleep.

Directions

Fresh drawn, boiling water contains the most oxygen, thereby giving the fullest taste to tea. Water that has been boiling for some time looses the oxygen and thereby the best taste.

Allow full expansion during the infusion and easy removal after the time for steeping has elapsed.

Draw into a tea pot or kettle the best fresh water that you have available.

Warm the teapot and cups while the water is boiling.

Ingredients

Chamomile, Spearmint, Blueberry, Orange Flower/Leaf/Peel, Linden, Poppy Flower, Passion flower, Rose.

Cautions

This herbal remedy is not recommended for use by pregnant or lactating women. Allergy to chamomile may occur in hypersensitive individuals who have an allergy to ragweed pollen.
