Urinet is a unique combination of three herbs, Uva Ursi Leaf, Peppermint Leaf, and Bilberry Leaf, designed to act as a safe and natural diuretic.
The use of Uva Ursi, or Bearberry, as a folk remedy for urinary tract infections has been validated by modern research showing that this herb is an effective treatment for bladder and kidney ailments. It is a bitter herb used for kidney and bladder infections, kidney stones, nephritis, diabetes, and hemorrhoids. It strengthens the heart muscle, used as a tonic, and helps disorders of the spleen, liver, pancreas, and small intestines. Uva Ursi is an effective diuretic and is often used for female disorders. Additional disorders that benefit from Uva Ursi include bronchitis, gonorrhea, diarrhea, bleeding.
It is reported that Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, touted Peppermint as a digestive stimulant and diuretic. It is said that a single whiff of peppermint can help to relieve symptoms of nausea and indigestion. Peppermint Leaf, one of the most recognized members of the mint family, not only aids digestion, but calms nausea, freshens the breath and even has antiseptic properties that can help relieve cold and flu conditions. For menstrual cramps, herbalists recommend 20-40mg Bilberry extract three times daily. Cautions
Uva Ursi is not for prolonged use without consulting a health practitioner. It may cause green color in urine. Discontinue use if nausea or upset stomach occurs. Uva Ursi is contraindicated in kidney disorders and irritated digestive conditions.
Bilberry may interfere with iron absorption.
Peppermint may, too, interfere with iron absorption. It may also reduce milk flow; take internally with caution if breast feeding.
