| | Description
Expectorol is an herbal combination specially formulated to act as a powerful expectorant, removing mucous and secretions from the respiratory tract.
Eucalyptus is commonly used with success for bronchitis, coughs and rheumatism.
Eucalyptus has a variety of other uses for which its effectiveness remains unproven. Among them are bladder, liver, and gallbladder conditions, whooping cough, fever, flu, hoarseness, asthma, diabetes, scarlet fever, measles, sinus conditions, loss of appetite, wounds, acne, bleeding gums, sore mouth, nerve pain, poorly healing sores, worms, gonorrhea, and digestive complaints. In Asia, it is also used for headache, bad breath, threadworm, and tuberculosis.
Eyebright is often used to cleanse and nutritionally strengthen the eyes due to its volatile oil and tannin content. Additionally, Eyebright is noted for it's antipyretic, alterative, astringent, anti-inflammatory, anti-histamine, and anti-lithic properties.
Hyssop is used traditionally to relieve symptoms of congestion from chest colds, bronchitis, and influenza due to its expectorant and diaphoretic qualities, and as a carminative to relieve flatulence or a nervous or upset stomach. It has also been used as an anthelmetic(removes worms) and has diuretic properties. Topically it can be used to treat scalds, minor burns or bruises. It has a warming energy and a pungent, bitter taste, and is one of the main herbs used to flavor the liqueur Chartreuse. The constituents of hyssop that contribute to its healing qualities include up to volatile oils comprising mainly of pinocamphone, isopinocamphone, pinenes, camphene and terpenine; a glycoside called hyssopin; up to 8% tannins; flavonoids; isolic acid; oleonolic acid; a bitter principle called marrubiin; resin and gum as well as 50 other compounds. | |
