Red Vine Leaf (Vitis vinifera): Among its recognized and/or validated uses by research, we note chronic vein insufficiency (varicals), post-surgical lymphoedema, edema from sport wounds, hemorrhoids and repetitive bruises.
A double-blind trial demonstrated that red vine leaf extract is effective at relieving the symptoms and swelling associated with CVI.15 One group of participants took either 360 mg or 720 mg per day of a standardized extract for 12 weeks, and another group took a placebo. At the end of the treatment period, those who had taken the herb experienced significant improvement in symptoms of leg heaviness, tension sensation, tingling, and pain compared with those who had taken the placebo. Objective measurements of leg swelling were also significantly improved in the red vine group compared to the placebo group.

I am taking Red Vine, along with Horse Chestnut, for rosacea, and it is keeping it under control. I also apply a cream with these two herbs in it (made in France), and these things work 1,000 times better than all the drugs and creams, namely antibiotics, that the dermatologist prescribed that were tearing up my skin making it worse than ever. The Europeans know what they are doing by using and prescribing red vine leaf to control problems with veins. Too bad for us in the USA -- at least we have this herbal option. If you are frustrated with rosacea, please try this.
