Description
Linden Sapwood is used for respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, coughs and as a sedative.
Only the flowers of the Linden tree have any proven medicinal value. In folk medicine, they have also been used to relieve stomach problems and cramps, flush excess water from the body, and calm the nerves. However, their effectiveness for these purposes has not been verified.
Common in northern temperate regions, the Linden tree is prized primarily for its wood, which is used in the sounding boards of pianos. Lindens often reach a height of 80 feet. Though they are also know as Common Lime, they bear no relation to the familiar citrus fruit. Linden flowers have several medicinal properties. They loosen phlegm, soothe irritation, and promote sweating.
Linden Sapwood is also known as Common Lime and European Lime.

Directions
Fresh drawn, boiling water contains the most oxygen, thereby giving the fullest taste to tea. Water that has been boiling for some time looses the oxygen and thereby the best taste.
Allow full expansion during the infusion and easy removal after the time for steeping has elapsed.
Draw into a tea pot or kettle the best fresh water that you have available.
Warm the teapot and cups while the water is boiling.
Ingredients
Linden Leaf, Mint.

The essence of the current American rule on Traditional Uses is, as stated by FTC, "Claims based on historical or traditional use should be substantiated by confirming scientific evidence, or should be presented in such a way that consumers understand that the sole basis for the claim is a history of use of the product for a particular purpose."
