Well I've been drinking the tea for about 3 weeks. And I have a very sore throat and continuous coughing. I thought it was a cold but the symptoms are some what different than a cold. Is this normal?

Have you experienced any side effects from this tea? I love it and it has helped me so much but I'm experiencing chills, coughing, nausea and weekness and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with me drinking this tea. Please help!

It's difficult to say whether your symptoms are the result of the stomach flu or some kind of adverse reaction to the herbal formula. All the reports indicate that side effects are extremely rare and mild when they do occur. There may be a slight cramping or gastrointestinal discomfort if one or more of the herbs, like senna, in particular, has a laxative effect on your system. Although unlikely, if you experience breathing problems, chest pains, elevated heart rate, or a skin rash, it may indicate that you have an allergy to one of the herbal ingredients in the formula.
You may want to rule out any potentially adverse reactions with any pharmaceutical medications that you are taking concurrently with the supplement. Licorice root, for example, is contraindicated for those taking any one of a variety of medications for the heart, diabetes, and high blood pressure. This should be checked out by your healthcare practitioner. To be safe, you may want to discontinue use until your symptoms disappear. You could then re-introduce the supplement to determine if it was coincidental, and see how it goes. But again, the smartest thing to do would be to consult a healthcare professional just to be sure.
