Unlike any other individual herb, Spirulina contains high concentrations of the nutrients needed to cleanse and heal the body. It is a naturally digestible food that aids in protecting the immune system, absorbing minerals and reducing cholesterol. Its high protein content helps to stabilize the fluctuating sugar levels characteristic of hypoglycemia. Spirulina is especially good for vegetarian diets, because it supplies vitamin B12, needed for healthy red blood cells. It also suppresses the appetite and may prolong the life of cancer patients. This herb contains gamma-linolenic, linoleic, and arachidonic acids, iron, 60-70% protein, essential amino acids, nucleic acids, chlorophyll and phycocyanin.

How much should be given to a pre-teen age 16 who's weight is 210 and height is 6'3 on a daily basis. I'm very interested in this product because my son has digestive and intestional problems. I just watched a very good travel channel that talked about this.

I would suggest that as your son is already of adult height and weight, he should take the daily recommended dosage of 2 capsules, 2-3 times daily.
Spirulina has been shown to be among the most nutritious substances on earth. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that contains high levels of protein, chlorophyll, vitamin B12, calcium and numerous other vitamins and minerals. Spirulina contains chlorophyll, which is essential in maintaining healthy digestion and cleansing the bowels.
Should you be interested in other products that help to promote digestion, may I suggest Digestive Enzymes Complex or Digestive Stimulation Complex. Both of these products have been designed with blends of herbal supplements that help to aid and improve the digestive system and its function.

The essence of the current American rule on Traditional Uses is, as stated by FTC, "Claims based on historical or traditional use should be substantiated by confirming scientific evidence, or should be presented in such a way that consumers understand that the sole basis for the claim is a history of use of the product for a particular purpose."
