Saw Palmetto is one of the best herbs available for prostrate health and the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy as it can increase urine flow and decrease the frequency of nighttime urination. The berries are used for asthma, colds and bronchitis. It is also good for poor appetite and digestion. Saw Palmetto berries contain an estrogenic substance which may enhance sexual functioning and desire. This herb contains fatty acids, essential oils, resin, carotene, tannin, capric, caprylic, caproic, lauric, oleic, and palmitic acids.
