Description
A traditional Herbal Medicine from dried leaves to help prevent migraine headaches.
Migraine headaches occur when a substancecalled serotonin is released in the body causing swelling and constrictionof blood vessels in the head.
The migraine prophylactic action is thoughtto be due to inhibition of the release of serotonin from the platelets possible via neutralization of sulphyryl groups on specific enzymes that are fundamental to platelet aggregation and secretion. Feverfew (Tanactum Parthenium) is rich in sesquiterpene lactones, principally parthenolide. Parthenolide inhibits platelet aggregation and secretory activity in platelets and white blood cells. This inhibition of serotonin will reduce the number of migraine attacks. To prevent and reduce the severity of migraines, you must build up your blood serum level of parthenolide.

How long should Feverfew capsules be taken to prevent migraine headaches? Can feverfew capsules take care of normal headaches like tension headaches, cluster headaches also or will they treat only migraine headaches? If feverfew is taken for 6 months, will migraine headaches totally stop thereafter?Further since the outer layer of the capsules might have been made of some chemical substances, will they not harm the body or cause any side effects?

Results vary with individuals, but may be noticed within one month. Research results have been inconsistent and it is impossible to say, with certainty, what percentage of people will benefit from feverfew in the treatment of migraines or other headaches. Biochemically, it is believed that active compounds (sesquiterpene lactones) within the herb inhibit the release of certain inflammatory chemicals within the body. This, in theory, makes it useful for inflammatory conditions like migraines and a range of other inflammation-based ailments. No research, to our knowledge, has suggested that feverfew is a permanent cure for migraine headaches after six months time.
Directions
As an herbal dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1-6 times daily, preferably with meals
