A Dietary Supplement This NOW product has been designed to provide a high potency, balanced blend of the two prominent species of resident intestinal bacteria. Regular intake of beneficial probiotics can aid in maintaining healthy intestinal flora.
NOW 8 Billion Acidophilus and Bifidus is manufactured with an "over compensation" of live bacteria. A significantly higher level of friendly bacteria than the label indicates is packed into each capsule to account for any bacterial die-off during the shipment time. While the product is at the NOW storage facility, or at our ZooScape storage facilty, it is kept refrigerated. When the product is shipped, depending on the duration and climate of destination, the over compensation insures that product is of the highest quality and the bacteria remian active. Obviously, extreme conditions for extended periods of time would be detrimental to the product. It is absolutely necessary to keep this product refrigerated upon receipt.
