NOW Foods is proud to announce the receipt of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification from the National Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA). The NNFA GMP Certification Program is designed to verify compliance of member suppliers of dietary supplements with a standardized set of good manufacturing practices (GMPs) developed by NNFA. This program is based upon third party inspections of member suppliers and comprehensive audits of their GMP programs in the areas of Personnel, Plant and Grounds, Sanitation, Equipment, Quality Operations, Production and Process Controls, Warehouse, Distribution, and Post-Distribution Practices. This program ensures that all elements of the manufacturing process are reviewed to provide reasonable assurance that processes are sufficiently controlled so that products meet their purported quality.
Having had high blood pressure for over 30 years and with the threat of diabetes which has already given me chronic foot pain for the past five years, I read with interest an article on a reputable website that Alpha Lipoic Acid taken 600 mg daily helped decrease foot pain when prescribed to patients in a European study. After checking with my family physician, I decided to start a regimen of the antioxidant.
Well, the results have been better than I had hoped for! While the foot pain is still aggravated by weather conditions, for normal daily activities my pain has lessened considerably. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the worst pain, I was suffering daily at an 8+ and now most days are around 3 to 4 with the occasional day again at a 7 or 8. What a great relief!
Another wonderful side effect of taking this antioxidant is that my regular medication for my high blood pressure is working much more efficiently, I have less fatigue and my sugar is showing better readings. I am hopeful that I can now start an exercise program which will again improve my health situation.
