With a scent that's fresh, sweet, fruity, herbaceous, and apple-like, Roman chamomile is classified as a middle- note scent with an odor intensity of about four out of five. Blending companions include florals, citrus, geranium, lavender, and patchouli. For physical conditions, this oil is used for its antispasmodic, relaxant, skin supporting, antiseptic, and wound healing properties. Emotionally, Roman chamomile can ease tension and depression; it is also useful for times when harmony and self-control are important. This perennial herb was once planted in English lawns to release its wonderfully fruity-floral scent when trod upon. The herb is medicinal, but has a very bitter flavor and is not often used as tea.

Directions
All pure essential oils should be used with care. Do not apply directly into skin. A 2% dilution of essential oils to a base of carrier oil or lotion is recommended for all skincare and massage preparations.
Ingredients
100% Pure Roman Chamomile Essential Oil
Cautions
Avoid during the first trimester of pregnancy. Can cause skin irritation or provoke wheezing in susceptible individuals. Always use in low concentrations (0.5 to 1 per cent). If you are prone to allergies, carry out a patch test beforehand.
Because of the high price of Roman chamomile essence, a growing number of suppliers promote Moroccan chamomile (Ormenis multicaulis) as a cheaper alternative. Although the plant is distantly related to Roman chamomile and has a similar aroma, its medicinal properties have not been thoroughly investigated, nor has the oil undergone formal safety testing procedures on humans.
