Description
Niacinamide, or Vitamin B3, plays a role in the metabolism of protein, fats and carbohydrates. It also regulates the synthesis of sex hormones. Niacinamide is also responsible for growth and health and the maintenance of normal functioning of the skin, tongue and nervous system.
The B-Compound vitamins are probably the single most important set of factors needed for proper maintenance of the nervous system, proper functioning of the cell and its energy metabolism. Any kind of mental or physical stress as well as poor eating habits greatly increase the body's need for B Vitamins. Since B Vitamins are water soluble, meaning any excess is not stored but excreted or lost through perspiration - thus, the B Vitamins must be supplied as the body needs them, on a regular basis.

Ingredients
Niacinamide - 100 mg
This product contains no Artificial Preservatives, Color, Milk, Soya, Corn, Wheat or Yeast.
Cautions
Niacinamide is generally considered to be safe to take, although in rare cases, liver problems have occurred at doses in excess of 1,000mg per day. Niacin, when taken in dosages as low as 50-100 mg, may cause flushing, headaches, and stomachaches in some people. Sometimes, doctors prescribe niacin for certain health concerns in amounts as high as 3,000 mg per day. Such large amounts of niacin can cause liver damage, diabetes, gastritis, damage to eyes, and elevated blood levels of uric acid (possibly leading to gout), and should never be taken without consulting a nutritionally oriented doctor.

The essence of the current American rule on Traditional Uses is, as stated by FTC, "Claims based on historical or traditional use should be substantiated by confirming scientific evidence, or should be presented in such a way that consumers understand that the sole basis for the claim is a history of use of the product for a particular purpose."
