Description
Pygeum africanum grows as a tall evergreen tree in Southern Africa, Central Africa and Madagascar. The fissured brown bark of Pygeum africanum is used for medicinal purposes and has three components that have been identified to benefit prostate and urinary tract disorders: sterols, terpenoids, and special plant alcohols. Pygeum's phytosterols possess anti-inflammatory properties, inhibiting the formation of some prostaglandins involved in inflammation. Terpenoids stimulate diuretic action and contain anti-edema properties. They inhibit the action of enzymes in the initial phases of inflammation and strengthen the integrity of veins and capillaries which helps to slow inflammation. Pygeum's alcohols reduce the build up of cholesterol by-products that accumulate in the prostate.

Why Pygeum 
Pygeum, found now it many prostate formula is a recent discovery in the 'natural product mkts', although it has been use for years elsewhere in the world.. it serve as prostate maintenance without to side effect of saw palmetto which can interfere with the libido.. in fact pygeum works to maintain prostate health and to sustain quality of itimate life... the quality of this product speaks for itself in its assured and demonstated quality over the years i have personally used it.. i have avoided synthetic solutions offered medical profession, which for me allows by body to take better care of itself.. do your own research on pygeum and you will discover as i did a wonderfual adjunct to maintaining prostate health.. fhj

Good Product but sometimes Slow Delivery 
I have been using this product for several years and find it effective. I have been disappointed at the occasional prolonged delivery interval which seems to result from a delay in shipping. [Editor: Unfortunately, Swiss Herbal has gone through a transformation in the past 12 months, including a move to a new location. During these changes, there were some delivery issues. However, it does seem that they have sorted out their problems, and they are now more solid than ever!]

Also Recommended: I suggest you address the shipping delay problem. Given that the product is available, it is impossible to understand why shipping should be held up. Also it would be logical to have the option to purchase much larger quantities of the tablets in the same container, e.g. 270 or even 300 tablets. [Editor: I have passed on your suggestion that they consider larger bottles. I quite agree with you simply in the name of conservation that it would be more efficent and result in less waste if you could purchase just 1 bottle to get 360 tablets, instead of 6 bottles, for example.]
