I learned about Bragg Seasoning from the cookbook 'The Garden of Vegan'. It is really quite delicious but I have one issue with it..or should I say question. I am not all about being vegetarian...more about nutrition. Bragg Seasoning seems very salty. How can something made of just soybeans and water taste so salty? Is there added sodium or salt in the product?

Salt content of Bragg
Bragg Liquid Aminos has 10% sodium, naturally occurring in the soybeans that the amino acid isolate is derived from. It's a concentrate, so there ends up being a lot of sodium. From what I gather it's more healthful than the alternatives, by merit of the nutritious parts of it, but I am not sure that the amino acids are in significant quantity if you are only using a half teaspoon or so. If you're using a lot more to get the amino acids, you're drowning in sodium...
