The main action of Glucosamine in the human body, is to stimulate the synthesis of cartilage in the joints. Also, by inhibiting the degradation of cartilage the effect can be relief from the pain and inflammation around joints that is associated with osteoarthritis. Glucosamine Sulfate is a small molecule comprised of a sugar molecule (glucose), an amino group and a sulphur group. This form of Glucosamine has a similar structure and the same beneficial results as regular Glucosamine Sulfate. Potassium Chloride has been attached to this molecule instead of sodium chloride as a stabilizer in this formulation. Sulphur is an essential nutrient for joint tissue where it functions in the stabilization of the connective tissue matrix of cartilage, tendons and ligaments. Glucosamine Sulfate is easily absorbed and distributed to joint tissues and causes no gastric upset. While taking Glucosamine Sulfate, a difference may be noticed in the first couple of weeks and even better results after four weeks. A reduced consumption of red meat, refined sugar alcohol and caffeine, reducing cholesterol levels and maintaining a light exercise program will also be beneficial while on this treatment. This product is especially good for those with high blood pressure or salt-restricted diets.
