Generally, anywhere from 1 g (1,000 mg) to 10 g (10,000 mg) daily is a typical range, with about 2 g (2,000 mg) daily being the average dosage. In some cases, particularly in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, there have been clinical trials where a daily dose as high as 20-40 g (20,000 mg - 40,000 mg with as much as 90% phosphatides) has been prescribed to patients. Studies with dosages this high administered over a period of several months have been deemed safe and non-toxic. There were no adverse reactions or side effects documented in any of the case studies I viewed.
You've been advised to take a daily dose of 15.6 g (15,600 mg); that's on the high side by the standards of most vitamin manufacturers, but still in the safe, if not commonly prescribed, range. I don't know the health condition that is being addressed here, but this daily dosage may be perfectly appropriate. I trust your herbal doctor is aware that this product is higher-than-normal triple strength?
