Vitamin A occurs naturally in two different forms: preformed vitamin A and pro vitamin A/ Beta Carotene.

Vitamin A is important in bone and teeth formation, assists in fat storage, and protects against colds and infections. It acts as an anti-oxidant which helps protect against the damage produced by free radicals and other diseases. Carotenoids such as beta-carotene are a class of compounds related to vitamin A that act as anti-oxidants. Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A through a process that takes place in the liver.
